foreclosures in Loudoun,Fairfax & Prince WilliamHomes that have been through foreclosure are always a topic of conversation among home buyers and investors.

When folks want information about buying foreclosures, bank owned homes (REO's) are generally what they are talking about.

The number of Bank Owned homes  (property that has already been foreclosed on and now offered to the public through real estate agents) has remained very steady for the past year in the  Northern Virginia metro area, but at a much LOWER level than in recent years.

Fortunately for mortgage stressed home owners,  real estate prices have risen in the past 5 years so that many can sell their homes normally rather than face foreclosure or short sale.

For example, in March 2009, 181 bank owned homes sold in Prince William county in that month. As of today January 26, 2015, there are a total of 45 bank owned homes for sale in Prince William county...a monumental change.
