Why is Feedback So Important?
Who is feedback important for? That is my question to all agents. Is it the listing agent that reaps the benefit, the seller or the buyer's agent? I would think that it is all three.
Am I the only one that sees it that way? Let me know your thoughts on getting and giving feedback. Are we not in a cooperative business!
Feedback Benefits
Listing Agent- Feedback is very helpful in getting price reductions and also in negotations on an offer. It also helps us to get the seller to see thing in the home that maybe they never see.
Seller- Feedback helps them to understand the market and what the buyers think of their home and price. It helps the seller to hear from more than one person thoughts on the home. After the seller hears the same feedback a few times, they understand what the problem can be in not getting an offer.
Buyers Agent- Feedback does in the long run also help the buyer's agent. If the seller has heard the feedback more than one time, it can help the seller to be more negotiable when dealing with your buyers offer.
So if a few minutes can help us all, why the big deal in giving feedback to a fellow Realtor after showing their listing. My company has online feedback and is a simple as 1-2-3. Please take the 1 minute to give my seller some feedback.
Valerie, I can only speak for myself. When I am working for a buyer client I will not give feedback unless I have the buyers permission to do so. Why? If I tell you that the house looks nice and is priced well I've just taken away some negotiating power from my clients. If I tell you it needs work, then I'm the agent that insulted your clients home as I'm walking in the door with an offer in hand...
