Plaka Grill – Vienna Va
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Plaka Grill in Vienna and the food was so outstanding that I wanted to blog about my experience. A friend of mine recommended the restuarant to me and I can't wait to visit again. Plaka Grill is located just off 123 at the intersection of Lawyers Road. There’s plenty of parking in the shopping center they’re located in but, I do recommend arriving early if you’re going for lunch as the line builds quickly. Seating is limited inside, we arrived at 11:30 and there was only one other couple dining but, by noon it was packed. You can always get it to go if seating isn't open.
The service was friendly and prompt and the food left me wanting to come again very soon. They serve Greek food but, not just any Greek food. It’s all made from scratch, in house daily. Plaka Grill also has a wide selection of beer and wine. The Plaka Dip sampler was really appealing to be able to try all of their different dips, it comes with warm pita bread and there was no mistaking how fresh everything was. The Plaka Gyro didn’t disappoint and was enough to feed 2 people but, I didn’t share. Pair that with Plaka fries and it was a wonderful meal.
I especially like that Plaka is a small business; Peter Drosos is both the owner and chef. Small businesses are so important to our community and I plan to be back for a visit very soon. If you're in the Vienna area and looking for authentic Greek food stop by Plaka and check them out.
