It could be a rainy Super Bowl in Arizona

Arizona is known for clear skies and perfect 70 degree weather during the winter. This is the time of year that people flock to this great State to escape the cold Northern and Eastern temperatures. This winter is especially unique as Arizona hosts the National Football League Championship game. Tens of thousands of people will be here not only to enjoy the Big Game, but to take in all the special events, parties, golfing, and downtown nightlife.

However, unusually wet conditions are threatening to rain on everyone's parade and dampen the spirits of residents and visitors alike. Here is the weekly forecast for around the Valley leading up to Sunday's game:

Glad to see things should clear up by the big game, I never want to see a super bowl decided by weather.  With a bunch of rain, they might need to deflate the balls just a bit ; )

As a bitter Broncos fan, I say bring on the rain.  Make the game interesting.

Nicole Doty - Gilbert Real Estate Expert ...Lets just hope that the rain doesn't effect the air pressure on the Patriot side of the field ...LOL

I'm sure it will be a great game!

John - There's still a slight chance of rain on Sunday but it's a retractable roof so they'll just keep it closed.

Kevin - So I'm guessing you won't be rooting for the Patriots!?

Rob - Don't let Barbara Todaro hear you say that!

Nicole, the east coast weather people exaggerated the outcome of our recent "historic" blizzard that dumped a whole two inches on DC.  Hope your rain predictions are along the same the same lines.

Hope the weather holds out.  Then again, these are champions who should be able to play in any kind of weather.

Good evening Nicole.  I agree with David on the the incredible odds against this weather for all the events.  And John Meussner  I don't think deflated balls have ever had so much headlines.  Nicole enjoy the rest of the week and hope you enjoy the game, who ever you may be routing for.  mark

Regardless people will show up to enjoy the game.  Just between us who do you think will win?

Barbara - Get him!

Patricia - I rains so little here that they do tend to exaggerate when a small storm does come through.

Chris - My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the rich celebrities that may have to carry an umbrella with them to all of their swanky parties. It might be rough.

David - It rains a little more than that. We get an average of about 7 inches of rain a year give or take.

Mark - I have a great friend who is a Patriots fan and an oldest daughter who is a Seahawks fan. I will remain neutral.

James - No doubt about that. They won't let a little rain spoil this event. Who do I THINK will win? The Patriots. Do I CARE who wins? No.

Good morning Nicole,

If it is raining the Ref's will have an added job of monitoring the ball pressure and the weatherman the other pressure!

Hope you are not bothered too much with the added visitors for the game and take some time to relax and watch.

Make yourself a great day.
