Massachusetts Real Estate Ends 2014 with Very Positive Outlook

The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) reported today that 2014 ended on a positive note as the number of Massachusetts single-family homes sold in December were up 5.5 percent compared to the same time last year. For the year, both single-family and condominium sales were down compared to 2013, but prices were up year-over-year.

December Closed Sales:

  • Closed sales have been up only twice in the past six months

More specifically, the Multiple Listing Service (MLS PIN) data indicates that the town of Franklin, Massachusetts has shown a very healthy 19% increase in December year over year average sale prices.

December 2014:  16 homes sold; average list price $464,119, average sale price $443,375

December 2013:  20 homes sold; average list price $362,645, average sale price $358,365
