Why should I get pre-approved before house hunting?

This is one of the questions I hear quite often. So many people love to search online for homes. They love looking at the pictures of big and beautiful homes and imagining themselves living in them. No one dreams of paying a mortgage. Or fixing their credit. Or gathering financial documents and sending them to a mortgage lender.

But getting pre-approved is a very important first step in the home buying process. Critical even.

Here is a video about the importance of pre-approved home loans. I explain why you should get pre-approved before house hunting. Take a look and let me know what you think.

If you are thinking about buying a home in the DC Metropolitan Area and would like a great list of lenders to speak with about your pre-approval, give me a call to Get Started

Dana - I couldn't agree with you more. The first step for any potential home buyer is to get pre-approved through a lender.
