I had a very special opportunity to go out with my daughter on Friday and watch her witness to people. We had a week of revival at World Harvest Church in Ball Ground and it continues on. The team from the Great Awakening came in and lit a fire under us that I don't believe will be quenched any time soon. It gave us a whole new meaning to the Words "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" Mark 16:15
On Friday morning, both my son and daughter chose to stay out of school to go
out witnessing to people and they we're so blessed by it. We used a script so that we would not have to depend on our own words and memory and we let God do the rest. We simply let him use our mouths. Breana was more blessed than she imagined and was such a blessing to the people that we ended up talking with. She was able to pray with 13 people at the nursing home, 3 of those were the staff and then she prayed with one person at the Dairy Queen, while eating lunch. I was amazed at her boldness, but more than that, the love that she showed towards people. She loved being able to say "Has anyone ever told you that God loves you and has a great plan for your life?" And I loved watching her openly share that love with others.
I know that I can't go in to all the world, but I definitely can go into Ball Ground, Canton, Hickory Flat and other surrounding areas. I can definitely can tell people that Jesus restored my marriage, my joy and my peace. And that he is the answer for the hopeless, I heard so many wonderful testimonies that they just can't be repeated in one post. Just last night a couple witnessed that they were homeless, and had a whole twelve dollars to their name and God spoke to them and told them to give it all and they did, with in a week her husband receive what accumulated to being 4 pay checks and they received a home. Jesus is the answer, at least for us, he's done to much in our lives not to be. During the whole week of witnessing, I was amazed at the attitudes of different people and the comments and remarks that were made to us that were hurtful most often came from someone who would start off by telling us they're a member of such and such church and then would comment that we didn't need to be out here doing all this. We had a whole group of "Christians" laugh at our teens because they were out trying to tell people about Jesus. But then we had several encourage us and tell us they would be praying for us as we went.
This not only got me stirred up, but it got me to thinking about all the people that I have met over the years that I've never really said any thing to, let alone straight out asked them, that if something happened today do you know without a shadow of a doubt, where you would spend eternity? It made me think about the real reason we're here and what is the most important thing, for me it is very eye opening.
David - Kudos to you for sharing your faith in your community and on AR as well. I recently lost a very dear friend of mine who was the boldest witness for Christ that I have ever met. I will also pray for your efforts. As a result of my friend's battle with cancer and his eventual passing, I have been motivated to participate in a church planting in a nearby town starting this summer. Take care and God bless you and your continued efforts!
