It' been a while since I've posted to Throwback Thursdays. With so much going on it's been a "real" challenge to post everyday this month but the finish line is in sight and I don't want to trip myself so close to reaching my goal.
I was going to finish a couple of posts I've had in the hopper but just couldn't muster the brain cells tonight. I was going through my "posts to do" list and saw my Throwback folder. A quick look inside and I saw this picture of my sister Sandy Yeager and me. It brought back memories, recent and from the past. Sandy who lives in Colorado visited for a couple of weeks recently to help our mother take care of our father as he struggles to regain his strength following surgery.
This photo makes me smile. Life was so simple then, everything was in front of us and we didn't have a care in the world. I'm not sure what my sister did to get that haircut but it couldn't have been anything good.
I don't know what the original intent was for Throwback Thursdays. Probably nothing too deep. I'll admit that at first I thought it was a little silly. But it didn't take long for me to realize how much I enjoyed looking through all the old photos I've collected over the years. They bring back happy memories in a way that only a photograph can.
A fireman friend once told me that people will run back into a burning building for the "3 P's" people, pets and photographs. I'm not sure that my sister would run back in to save this one, but I might. Love you sis.
