I know that flowers are not a ‘man thing’ except if he is giving them to his significant other as a nice bouquet does warm the cockles of a woman’s heart. I never understood the reason that cockles need warming; I suppose that is a blog for some other time. Lest I digress - back to flowers.
Taking a lesson from Alexandria on the use of colors in branding, I thought that the poppies on the aqua backdrop created a nice contrast.

Michael, interesting that "clam or mollusk" would be associated the warming of a woman's heart :)

Michael,

Love your photo, and I don't think flowers are a man or woman thing.  There is no label on any flower I have seen that says male/female, nor is there one on a vacuum cleaner.  Ron is just as ardent about flowers as I am, and our resident brilliant flower photographer, Roy Kelley is also, and then there is William Johnson who also has amazing floral photos.  I love your aqua background.  Alexandra

Great picture Michael.  Those Poppies really pop!  The colors are amazing and draw the attention but it is the crooked stems and jagged leaves that hold my eye and make me stare.

I agree! Those colors work very well together. The aqua is so soothing and the poppies pop with vivid color!

And as far as flowers goes being for girls, I say, hogwash! Every human being should appreciate flowers and receive them too! You deserve them as much as your sweetheart!
