It should come as no surprise that every real estate professional needs a "web presence".

Yet I hear comments all the time like:

"A web site is too much hassle"
"Everyones got a website. So what?"
"I've had a website for years and never gotten a sale out of it."

To those comments, and others like them I say, "Bullhockey"!

The NAR tells us 78% of all home buyers start their search for a home, and usually an agent, on the Internet.

So like it or not, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. If you want to succeed, you MUST have a website.

I've tried a couple of site providers that shall (for now) remain nameless. A year and a half ago, I settled on Point 2 Agent as my website provider. And I haven't looked back since.

What does Point 2 have to offer?

The "NLS" - National Listing System. List your homes and "share" them across all other Point 2 sites, plus those little know websites like Google Base, Yahoo, and many more. And share them AUTOMATICALLY. You just load 'em up in your Point 2 site, check a few boxes and *POOF*, Point 2 syndicates them to a slew of other websites.

Superior customer service.

An active user community with free (and excellent) support, help, and ideas.

A Contact Management System - drip emails, records of listings viewed, and more.

A blogging platform. WAY simpler to set up than a WordPress or Typepad blog. It's on your domain name, so any content posted to it helps YOUR domain.

Free training on Point 2 as well as free "seminars" with leading industry experts.

RELiberation - a community blogging platform.

RSS feeds and Google Maps for your listings.

And more. Much much more. Too much to list! For more info on the various levels of membership Point 2 provides, click here.

Not convinced? Try out Point 2 Agent for FREE. Yes, free. 100% no cost, no obligation. (some of the features listed above are not available with the free level. But you can try out the Professional level that DOES include all of the above for two weeks for free.)

Seriously folks, it's worth checking out. Even if you already have a website, grab a Point 2 free level site and get those listings out there! Build a niche site for free to compliment your main site. Are you a broker? Check out Point 2's broker solutions -- share listings across your agent's sites, distribute leads to your agents, and more.

What are you waiting for?

Jay and Franny,

I know you guys from the Point 2 forums.... you prob know me as well......

I am THIS close to getting the upgraded package...I need the hits AND the leads....

I am almost at the point that $39.95 is alright to pay if I am going to be reaping the rewards of it...I am #9 in google for "Orlando Florida MLS" and want to climb higher....

I think with the 15 pages they give you at Standard level is great seeing as I am #9...if I upgrade and have 250 pages...hehehehe JUST think......

I will be swimmin with the BIG FISHES!!  =-D

Alexander -

Of course I "know" you!

In my opinion, the $40/month for a Professional level Point 2 site is the best money you can spend on real estate marketing.

With a focus on 2 keywords per page, you get 30 chances to be seen on Google with a Standard site. Fill up a Pro site and you get 500 chances to be found!

Not to mention you can add RSS feeds, get a drip email system, and get additional capability like Open House modules. (and more)

Do you do mailings? For $40/month you can mail something to roughly 100 people. 99 of those will hit the trash can at the first opportunity. 40 bucks a month on a Point 2 site and you can reach thousands of people every day, 24 hours a day.

It's a no brainer. Go for it!

Can't do nothing but agree! I have tried out numerous website providers in the last few years while having a Point2 site the whole time and I haven't found anything that would make me want to switch. Plus, one thing I haven't found anywhere else ... Point2 as a company with its staff and designers actually listens to our wishes and comments and tries to implement them for the benefit of all of us!

No Doubt About It, I am just thrilled about Point2Agent. I have just upgraded my site and totally redesigned it. There are so many positive attributes. Even though I receive many web-based company offers, I don't even consider their offer becuase of the placement and opportunities that P2Agent affords!

Thanks Jay, I have read so much about Point2Agent and looked into it.  I have had a very successful site for 7+ years that I have put blood, sweat and tears into but I am recommending Point2Agent to new agents in the industry.  It seems you are passionate about it. Have a great weekend.

I just learned that point2agent has a similiar ranking to AR with points.  THey give you points based on how well you are using the tools that come with the site.

I recently started using P2.  Do you have any suggestions on where to begin now that I have set up my account?

I have heard good success with my local realtors about this system. Thanks for talking about it because I was a little behind on what it was at first. Great Blog\

I am thinking about upgrading to the professional edition.  What are the major differences between the standard and the professional.

Standard level = 15 pages maximum.

Pro level adds:
250 page max
Blog capability
Drip Email System
RSS Feed capability
Listings Map Search
Flash capability
Open House module
Comment Content Template
Photo Albums
Listing Brochures
Listing Attachments

I'm sure there is more. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It is a *significant* upgrade.

Hi, love the group and joined because I just upgraded my P2 to Professional (right from standard). I realize that it is a lot of work, especially for someonw who isn't too computer savvy. How do you all do it? I particularly like the Handshake because it is a great way to promote each other's listings. I have lots of questions, will you be there for me? I don't mean to be a pain in the neck but I want to be as successful with the site as everybody else!!! Thanks in advance!

Jay & Francy ~ it didn't take me long to figure out $40/month for the Point2 website was worth it.  One of my favorite things is being able to find out where the hits are coming from!
