Once the construction of the 10th to the 18th was finished, it was open to play on July 4th of 2007. The front 9 was completed the following year. Then in 2011, Vaaler Creek Golf Club was named the 19th Best New Course in the country by Golf Week Magazine. The course has grown year after year from a “diamond in the rough” to a true destination on many golfer’s list. This golf course has been the #1 reviewed course in the Austin/San Antonio market of Golf Now for quite some time now. Due to the abundance of good ground water source, this golf course at Vaaler Creek has always been maintain in great condition.
Three 19th century-era homes remain on the property, and one of them became the present Golf Pro shop which is run by Adam Grosch. It was moved rock by rock, beam by beam, and reconstructed on the edge of the 18th green. Adjacent to the pro shop is a putting green and a practice bunker, behind which is an elegant 5,000 square foot clubhouse, complete with “viewing room” and restaurant. The 18th hole is a Par 4, and is a destination venue for golfers and spectators alike.
