Sunsets in San Diego are Best in the Winter!
Why? I don't know but they can be incredible! Since I became interested in photography last year after buying equipment to photograph my own listings, sunsets/landscape photos seemed easy to do and looked great. My friends tell me I have a good eye. I think it's because I look for good composition, this is one of my first shots taken in Oceanside CA at the #Oceanside Pier.
Since that photo was taken I have learned different photography techniques, long exposures, dynamic range, the use of filters and now the use of lighting. Light and shadows really make pictures pop. I take my own heard shots, the one on this page was taken outside in the middle of the afternoon bleeding out the ambient light and utilizing my profoto flash. Ambient light is the main light source which was the sun in that case.
This shot was taken in Encinitas CA at Beacon's Beach on 1-25-2015, notice in this photo the foreground and the mid ground highlights are visible. The pier shot has a dark foreground. In the above photo the wood grain and even the nail rust is visible.
I have found another use for my photography, after sale gifts. For instance one of my clients owns a boutique resort at the beach in Carlsbad. I used a photo I took and had it framed in a 20 x 24 piece of art for his office. Example below.
One more and I will say good by for now. Call me with any questions about my area.
