Carnegie Hall WV Season Performances for 2014-2015
The 2014-2015 season marks Carnegie Hall's 31st year of presenting performances of the highest caliber. Carnegie Hall's Mainstage Series includes a diverse tapestry of musical genres: bluegrass, folk, world, jazz, blues, and classical. The season has already featured many stellar acts. Opening the season on September 27, 2014 was Dailey & Vincent, one of the top bluegrass bands in America. From there the journey progressed through fall with performances by Carrie Rodriguez, Barbara Nissman and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. In December patrons enjoyed the traditional holiday sounds of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and Kathy Mattea. These were all fantastic performances.
The second half of the 2014-2015 season kicked off on a cold January eve. Keeping the winter chill at bay on stage was Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter, Tom Hambridge and a few of his Nashville friends - Chuck Jones, Kevin McKendree and Greenbrier County's very own, Steve Mackey.
Up next is a Valentine weekend performance by Chris Brubeck's Triple Play, three incredibly talented and versatile jazz and blues artists. Chris Brubeck, an award winning composer and musician is son of jazz and classical legend, Dave Brubeck. Tickets are available online or at the Box Office on 105 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV.
Celebrate spring with the harmonies of three world class performers as the Celtic Tenors take the stage in March. World musician Fatoumato Diawara will perform the season's member show on Friday, April 10th - the night before downtown Lewisburg's sweetest festival - the Lewisburg Chocolate Festival. And to end the season in May are performances by Jayme Stone on the 2nd and Suzanne Vega on the 29th. Suzanne will bring her eclectic, folk-inspired music to Carnegie Hall's stage, including top 10 songs such as "Luka" and "Tom's Diner".
