“I must have flowers, always, and always.” - Claude Monet
Asking the name of an orchid may be a simple question but may have a complicated answer. Longwood's Orchid grower came back with the following answer when asked the name of the orchid in this photograph:
"This is a Blc. Hybrid that contains Rhyncholaelic digbyana. It will be difficult to identify this exact hybrid.”
"Blc. stands for Brassolaeliocattleya that are Orchid hybrids made up of three genera of Orchids. They are members of the Cattleya Alliance of Orchids.
If you are naming the plant in the picture and want a less scientific name I would suggest naming it:
Cattleya Alliance Orchid unknown hybrid."
