As if real estate wasn't enough!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Godfrey Properties RM422969

Really, as if this career that we all "romantically" picked wasn't demanding enough to sometimes pull your hair out over.  For all the agents that lie and say, "my business is better than ever" BS!  For the all the agents that say, "I'm so busy, I don't know what to do" BEHAVE!  You know what you can do.....volunteer to train new agents....oh, what a blast!  Now be responsible for someone else and their productivity.  Try to explain to someone all the subtle twists and turns that may happen along the way to what seems to be a SEAMLESS process.    Try to help them to develop new business and once they miraculously get it, how to handle it every step of the way.  I am at that stage of my career if you couldn't tell.  I liken it to being a Mommy of a toddler all over again.  If I hear my name once, I hear it a million times.  Inside of my head I scream "WHAT".  On the outside, I calmly smile and say, "Yes?  What can I help you with?"  It's like walking an electrified tightrope!

Woman on a tightrope      CHEERS!

Hi Donna!  Read about you on Fran's Welcome Blog and came to welcome you......And then I read your Blog - and thought........"this girl's already a pro'.........a 'born natural!'...:-) Loved it!  I do think we could use some 'transparency'......and that the 'ra ra ra ' approach with our clients and fellow realtors isn't necessarily always the best approach!  Good luck again and welcome - look forward to reading more of your blogs!  Liz

Duane:  Thank you for responding.  Sometimes I guess I could stand to hand a pretty curtain...

Fran:  Thank you for getting me into this.  It is addicting.

Liz:  Thank you.  I usually wear my heart on my sleeve, and it gets me into problems sometimes.

Jason:  I was never one for rose colored glasses.  And my optometrist is pretty hot.  I'd drop my glasses off any day!

Thank you again.

I'm glad Fran invited you! You sound as spunky as he is and this could be fun! Can't wait to read those future posts. I have helped younger agents out a few times and I've enjoyed them all. The reason I do it is because it makes them better agents and I can feed off their energy, the energy I used to have the first six months of real estate.
