What A Crazy Last Two Minutes In Super Bowl 49

I have seen some crazy endings to football games in the past, but none more crazy than last night's Super Bowl game.  What A Crazy Last Two Minutes In Super Bowl 49 filled with high's and low's for both the Patriots and Seahawks.

Everyone will be talking about Pete Carroll's last call to throw the ball instead of giving it to Marshawn Lynch, but how about:

  • The circus catch by Jermaine Kearse.
  • Richard Sherman flashing 2-4 with his fingers to mock Darrelle Revis, but the Patriots being the last ones to flash the number 4 by winning by 4 points and scoring 4 touchdowns.
  • The Patriots stopping Marshawn Lynch just before the goal line with less than a minute to go in the game.
  • Bill Belichick not calling a time out to preserve time on the clock for one last Patriots drive.
  • The interception by Malcolm Buttler
  • Defensive End Michael Bennett jumping offside allowing Tom Brady to just take a knee on the last play instead of having to run the ball out of the endzone.

This will be a Super Bowl will be remember for milestones, besides all the crazy events listed above.  Super Bowl 49 was:

  • The Patriots sixth Super Bowl under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
  • The Patriots fourth Super Bowl win under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
  • Tom Brady the all time leader in Super Bowl touchdown passes (12), which by the way is the number on his uniform.
  • Inflate Gate.
  • Seahawks not being able to repeat as Super Bowl Champs with a victory just seconds away.

I am sure those reading this blog can come up with several more things to add to the list above.

Congratulations New England Patriots, but now it is time to think about next year and one more Super Bowl.  Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have a Super Bowl ring for each finger, now it is time to get a fifth one for the thumb!  But after the Crazy Last Two Minutes In Super Bowl 49 my heart will need a full year to recuperate.

Hi George - I timed it perfectly. We just happened to switch to the game just in time to see that very strange and bad last call, but we did miss all the excitement getting there.

That was one of the best SBs in recent memory and indeed, what a crazy finish.  I don't blame Pete Carrolls play calling because anything can happen on any given play, but WOW what a heartracing chain of events.

Good evening George Souto ,  I was able to watch most of the second half.  Just like anything else, when it works, it was a great call.  When it doesn't work, then they wonder why that called that play.  That's why it is so interesting.  Kinda like playing chess.

Hello George,

I have to think that the Seahawks were sure the Patriots would be expecting them to bull their way across the goal line...and not expect a pass.  But, I may be giving the Seahawks coaches too much credit(?)...

George- this was one of the "cleanest" Super Bowls I've seen.. few penalties.  I couldn't believe Brady's first interception.  Who the heck was he throwing to?  But the last few minutes were not to be missed.

George it has been years since I watched a Super Bowl but this was a good one to come back to and watch....the first quarter I was a bit concerned if the Refs would decide the game with those two bad call...but I guess the bad call by the offensive coordinator made up for it:)Endre

Definitely one of the most entertaining footall games ever played. Both sides executed very well. Very few penalties. Hardly any dropped balls.
