Gambling destroys families and lives !

Many foreclosures are the result of degenerate, addictive gambling !

Stay away from the casinos if you're struggling with your expenses !

Make sure that both your family and your home are your most important priorities !

Please don't gamble !

In a past life, I was an analyst with a bankrutpcy law firm.  My job was getting info from clients and preparing chapter 13 budgets.

I would estimate that 50% of the bankruptcy petitioners were in their financial mess because of gambling problems.  Most of the rest were mostly just spenders.

Well that really sucks. I am so glad Hawaii is a state that doesn't allow gambling, or lotteries. It would be awful to see that happening every day.

The casinos aren't gargantuan because people win, Lenn Harley . Thanks.

Anyone with a mortgage and family should avoid a casino like a collapsed bridge, Patrick White . Thanks.

Life is better without casinos, Georgie Hunter . The nefarious psychology of getting something for nothing is what keeps the roulette wheel spinning and makes one a sucker for punishment because of the crippling addiction.

Very sad but true David. Gambling is like drugs or abusing alcohol, many can't control themselves. Also what gets me is that the local police arrested many people in the past for doing these things now the government wants to make money by having gambling legal in just about every state.

Maybe the Fed subsrcibes to the old adage, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em", so the saying goes, Noah, if that's the Fed's intention. Wagering set a precedence south of Memphis in Tunica County and, so far, hasn't been able to cross state lines with the exception of the state lottery. Gambling is a disease. I don't gamble, and always encourage others not to because of the danger.

David, as with ANY addiction it is to be taken seriously and sometimes intervention is the key--no matter where it comes from.
