Dream Tree Houses

Austinites love trees. We boast that we are not a concrete jungle like some of our surrounding Texas cities. We protect our trees to the point that they have more rights than property owners. That's right... if you live in Austin city limits, don't think you can cut down that tree without asking for permission.

With great trees comes great opportunities for tree houses.  At a listing appointment last week in North Round Rock I saw one very similar to this gorgeous design. The homeowners want a bigger home, but are reluctant to move because of their love for the tree house.

This next one is in Dallas and deserves it's own deed. These grandparents went above and beyond for their grandchildren. Check out their video showing how gorgeous this is at Christmas and the amazing story behind their dream of building great memories for their family.

No tree big enough to support a tree house? This design just screams Austin and no tree required.

And, my personal favorite.  I think the children who grow up playing in the magical Dallas tree house would be very happy to call this their real home someday.

Don't forget, if you live in an HOA you need to gain approval before construction. Most neighborhoods in Central Texas are very tree house friendly. If your home doesn't have trees I highly recommend you plant some. Trees provide character, privacy and truly increase property value.

Give me a call if you, or someone you know, is looking to buy or sell their home. Austin, and the surrounding suburbs, have some beautiful wooded lots to call home. Let my knowledge and experience ensure your success.

Catherine Ulrey Can you imagine hiring an architect for a tree house?  Lucky children.

Beth Atalay Yes, and their grandfather built it.  It is a tough decision for them.
