"I Love My Job as a Full Time Single Parent and Professional"

Dear Abby (LOL),

"I LOVE MY JOB"

"Its very tough being a Full Time Single Parent and full time Realtor.  But you know what, I wouldn't trade it for the world."   Yes I have to: fix breakfast, lunch & dinner, pack lunches, feed and bathe the dog, do the laundry, wash dishes, clean  the house (everyday, literally, hahaha), clean the car ("my oh my!"), clean the yard, pray to GOD, take out the trash, mop the floor, on n on n on....But I just do it!

"Even with all that, My Business is EXPLODING!"  How? Hard Work and a Good Positive ATTITUDE....If you think its a tough market, it is.              Its funny, in the office alot of my associates are still staring at the walls trying to figure out the market.  Huh!

My 7yr old is Sharp and is a Great Assistant. We go door-to-door, we do open houses, we develop presentations,  she's an awesome envelope stuffer, we write "Thank you" cards and were super "Road Warriors"!......Were a Team!   "What job in the world can provide this flexibility and income, WOW!" (Oh yeah! I forgot our Yellow Lab "Dixie", she's with us 24/7 too!)    "Its my choice not to use day care for them. And ever since I took on the role, I found out what I'm made up as a person and Father;-)"

For all the Single Parents out there: You alone have the responsibility to shape your life. Once you understand this, nothing and no one can deny you success. There's no one to stop you but yourself. More powerful than all the success slogans ever written is the realization that everyone has but one boss. That boss is you. Your life will always be to a large extent what you make of it. No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but you.
Success or failure?
It's always your choice.

Jeffery - I agree, it is a lot of work, but rewarding, don't forget that you can pay your daughter for helping you tax free. I don't remember the amount but there was a blog on it the other day.

How about I like my job (parenting) and love my job (professional).

Okay, Jeff today may not be the best day since my 13 year old said she had to print her report out this morning. Two hours later she was still answering questions. Not a happy morning. But I do always love them. 8-)

Jeffrey, more power to you!  My kids are 22 and 21 now and other than cutting checks, pretty much on their own, but I know what you're talking about from experience.  It's funny, my kids knew how to figure a mortgage payment by the time they were 8 or so.  Later, my daughter took a job as a loan officer while she was in college.

The guy interviewing her asked her how much experience she had in the real estate and mortgage business and she told him about helping me when she was a kid.  He hired her!

The best advice that I can give you from my perspective is to take a LOT of pictures.  These years pass quickly!

Jeff, The parenting job is definitely the toughest, yet most rewarding!  Good for you balancing the two and having your daughter so involved in what you do.  Great job!

Jeff - first kudos to you for maintaining a good work life balance. You are also setting a good example for your son (even at such an early age) by having him see your great work ethic and getting him involved.

Thanks for the post - very motivating!
