15 Comments on Better Photos With Wide Angle Lenses ...Magnetically!

Another agent I know uses this. Luckily my boyfriend is into photography and just purchased a wide angle lens for the camera I am anxious to use it. But I heard these work great.

Could you post a few pictures so we can see what this magnetic lens can do.

The only thing that bothers me is that I haven't seen any sample photos from this lens.  They don't even show any sample photos on their own website were they are selling this lens.  Can anyone who uses this lens provide some sample photos?

That would be helpful.  I am trying to figure out what camera to buy and am realizing the wide angle lense is really important.

I heard about these but wasn't sure where to start looking.  Thanks for the link.

Looks pretty cool Steph.  A lot cheaper than the new cameras I've been looking at!

Aftermarket lenses do not generally have great optics.  I have a Nikon wide angle lens for my Nikon camera which creates a lot of barrel distortion.

BeforeAfter

It is fixable in the photo editing software, so that shouldn't be the only reason not to buy a wide angle lens.  Plus, I would say a distorted wide angle lens is probably better than not having a wide enough shot for a room.

The best solution is to hire a professional who has the right equipment an knows how to use it.

I have a Raynox 6600 .66x wide-angle adapter for my Powershot A510 and it works with some limitations. It is horribly soft in the corners at wider apertures so I have to use the smallest aperture possible. The upside is it gets a 24mm equivalent field of view and has much less distortion than most after-market P&S wide-angle adapters. I could probably dig up some examples but if you seatrch the threads someon did a comparison of field of view at various focal lengths and the difference between 35 and 24 is ENORMOUS. . . .

Hi Stephanie. Thanks for sharing the great tip! Keep them coming.

I've heard about these and I understand they work pretty well on most fixed-lens cameras.

I was thinking of trying it but was afraid of the distortion. I'm not adapt at photo editing at all.
