Have you ever had someone say to you..."Ohhhhh, I have just been too busy lately."
Its a very interesting thing to me sometimes. The person who never returns their phone calls, never answers their phones, or is always running late to appointments. This even happens with the person that does it occasionally. Have you ever had someone promise to do something...and than when you ask if it was done they say "Ohhhh things have been really hectic, things have just been crazy."
OR EVEN THE FAMOUS...."Im only 5 minutes away from the appointment. Traffic is awful." (When they just got on the road, and they were praying to see an accident on the side of the street so that they could say there was one.)
Its all Excuses. Are you really busier than the next person? Are you busier than the person who is selling 5, 10, 20, 40 homes a month?
The person who makes up all these excuses are trying and striving to find a reason why they didnt do it. So they make up excuses. I know someone who is always stressed and always talking about how busy they are. The truth is....are they busier than the other person? NO! They have learned to make excuses and talk about how busy they are. They are literally stressing themselves out.
Create Results not Excuses. Successful people create Results. Strugglers create Excuses.
If you focus on creating results instead of naturally looking for excuses, you will excel. If there is always an excuse....you will never be successful.
Create a Motto:
My motto is "IM ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR YOU AND YOUR REFERRALS!" This does something for me because A. Im holding myself accountable that I cant ever say Im too busy...because Im always advertising Im always available. B. It lets people know Im here for them. They will always feel like they can come to me and trust me with their business.
The next time you are thinking you are too busy remember:
A. Im always available..
B. If things really are hectic...what can I do to make it so that Im always available?
Anyone have any other pointers on how they can train their mind to Always be available?
Dave - I dig your motto and thanks for dropping me comment on my blog...
