Good news! Today we pushed out our 2015_Sprint2 enhancements and bug fixes for the ActiveRain community.
This release was made between 11am and 12pm Pacific. Certain people on the site might have seen a few quick hiccups on the home page during the time, but there was not any downtime for the majority of our users.
Here is a list of the tickets we addressed in this short sprint that encompassed about two weeks of development time.
Home Page
- AR-92 The new activity feed concluded the beta run and is now live on the home page.
Blogging
- AR-73 Bug fixed. Blogs that were scheduled and later edited were having issues publishing because the system was not requiring a topic on the blog post.
- AR-158 Bug fixed. On our mobile web blog posts pages, the system was including draft posts by the author in the "More by this Author" section.
Question & Answer
- AR-78, AR-79, AR-117, AR-118 We added a new field that allows a member to provide more background on the question they are asking.
- AR-76 & AR-77 The Location field is no longer included when asking a question. We found that most members weren't utilizing it and it was just taking up room.
- AR-80 After asking a question, the member is now prompted to share that question on social media sites.
- AR-91 We added OG tags and other Facebook friendly elements to enhance the social sharing ability on our question pages.
- AR-82 The location identifier on a question was removed from the indivudal question pages and the Q&A home page.
- AR-84 "Location" was removed from the drop-down filter options on the Q&A home page.
- AR-85 We added a link to "Ask a Question" on the ActiveRain mobile website menu.
- AR-157 Removed the "Show All" link from bottom of the individual question page. All answers are now visible as soon as the question opens.
Other Stuff
- AR-81 We fixed an issue that caused a few site outages in early February as a result of the front page index not working properly.
- AR-98 We investigated a report that previewing a blog post was erroneously awarding points and counting against a member's weekly cap of blog posts. We could not replicate the bug so nothing was changed for this release.
- AR-159 On the Blog Settings Page, unchecking the box so members aren't notified by email when their question is answered was not working
As you can see, the focus in this short sprint was to apply the new activity feed to the home page and to make a few more enhancements to our growing Q&A site.
Thank you for all of the encouragement around getting this work complete. We are already hard at work on our next round of enhancements that are slated for early March!
