Valentine's Day has a history that doesn't always agree with each other.  But the one theme throughout the varied account is "romance".  The word romance can mean different things to different people.  So here is a list of ideas that should suit everyone's ideas in one way or another.


#1  HAVE HER CAR SERVICED AND DETAILED INSIDE AND OUT.

This may not sound very romantic but some women (like me) are very practical.  It would mean more to me if my husband took the time and energy to have the oil changed, argue with the guys about my fuel filter or air filter. That would be a dream come true.  And then to have it detailed.  He would have to tip the guys extra for that. You should see the inside.  It is 10 years old and I don't remember of every having it detailed.  Leave a rose in the seat and be a hero.

#2  DRIVE HER TO A SECLUDED AREA

And bring a couple of bottles of wine.  If you like in an area that isn't freezing in February, sit on the tailgate or the hood of the car.  If it is cold turn the heat on a little bit and drink a little wine and reminiscence.  Tell her the special things you love about her.  Talk about how and where you met and what you were thinking.  Remember, this is in no way to start an argument.  As a matter of fact, no matter what she says turn it into something wonderful for her.  If it is really hot subject, hang onto it until D-Day and then talk about it.  Bring her a single rose and tell her you love her more than once.



#3 TAKE HER TO A WONDERFUL SPA. .

Let her get pampered all day with massages, facials, pedicures and anything else they offer.  Choose the room so that the view isn't the top of the next building's AC unit and get some nice candles and a little champagne.  Don't order a full dinner but simple trays of fruit and vegetables and petit sandwiches. Things that are a treat for her that she doesn't normally get.

#4  BE THE CHEF FOR THE NIGHT .You can be anywhere between a microwave person and a gourmet chef, but it is the thought that counts.

#5 WOMEN WANT TO KNOW THEY ARE LOVED AND WANTED  Try writing down 14 things that you love and appreciate about your someone special.  She will see your heart in this and how much you really love and appreciate her. 

#6 CREATE A "SPECIAL" PLACE. Be creative. Many people have their "song" and whenever they hear it they have a special connection.  Do something memorable. You want it to come up in conversation about the time he did......for Valentines. 

#7  HAVE A COUPLE'S MASSAGE.  There isn't anything more relaxing than a nice massage.  And to make it double the fun you both have one at the same time.  

#8  A WEEK-END AWAY WITH NO KIDS  If your wife is a mom then you have no idea how much this will mean to her.  Being a mom is not a part-time job.  It is a 24-7 job.  And if she works a full time job, too,  A week-end out of town with her favorite you will be amazing. Take her phone so she won't be Face Timing.

#9 HIRE A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING SERVICE to come and clean the house from top to bottom.  Shampoo the carpets, wash the windows and everything in between.  

#10  TAKE HER TO HER MOST FAVORITE PLACE FOR DINNER.  Call ahead and get a secluded table reserved.  Have champagne waiting for her and chocolate covered strawberries.  Just knowing that you took the time to plan ahead will make her feel special.

#11 IF YOUR SPECIAL PERSON LIKES JEWELRY, buy a special bracelet or necklace and have it engraved with something special you feel for her from deep down in your heart.

#12  IF SHE LIKES PARTIES, plan and have a Valentine's party with hearts and flowers and party favors.  Invite all of your friends and make it a memorable night.

#13  IF YOU KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING SHE LIKES TO DO and you don't like to so therefore have never done it together before, suck it up and with great enthusiasm do it with her.

#14  This one is the final thought. Whatever you do for her, make it memorable.  Make it so she will always remember and say "remember that Valentine's Day we did such and such".  It really needs to be a friend bragger thing too.  Keep her smiling!
