These days, there is so much talk about Millennials, who they are and what they want. According to research they are in their mid 20's, very tech savvy, emand good communication, and want a response or answer immediately. Much of this is due to the fact that they grew up surrounded by amazing technological advancements.
I haven't met a single customer that doesn't want an answer immediately. We have all experienced the serial inquirer that never responds despite the fact that you responded immediately.
I get inquiries all the time and try to answer right away but at times, never hear anything back. I think people want to cover all bases so they scramble to send inquiries only to forget which property they contacted you about because "there were so many".
I feel that all a customer has to do is contact one agent that can send them listings, market data and answer any questions. It's a much easier way to do things and for people that want responses right away, you would think they would feel the same.
I wonder how much business an agent that doesn't embrace technology loses because they aren't playing on the same field as the millennials? Are you in a position to talk tech with these prospective customers? Connect with them the way they want to connect and communicate?
If not, you might want to consider taking the time and learning everything you can about the technology that is changing the way we do things and communicate. Along with these advancements comes an etiquette that should be folowed as well. I always ask customers or clients what their preferred method of communication is. Make it your business to know everything about your business.
