The Symbolic Importance of 8's and 9's for Home Buyers
Real Estate agents will come across this with buyers from time to time, especially when working with clients from China. To help shed light onto the symbolic importance of 8's and 9's here is a brief back ground on the perspective of these numbers.
Keep in mind, there is a difference from a Feng Shui perspective. With Feng Shui there is no "good" or "bad" number, that is a fear based method of thinking. Feng Shui does not promote that way of perceiving.
In the China the desired numbers are 8 and 9. Both numbers are seen as symbolic energy references for abundance (more so with 8) and attainment with the number 9. Number nine is also a divine number, that relates to accomplishment.
Houses that tend to be passed over are homes with the number 4. The reason is for cultural beliefs. When saying the number 4 in Chinese, it sounds very similar to the word "death." Because of that, many feel it creates a negative energy vibration within that house.
In Feng Shui, the number 4 relates to creativity and security. Feng Shui also teaches us that you can change and shift the vibration of your home with your intention and how your physically address the interior and exterior of your home will also contribute to that shift.
- 0 - void, nothingness, potential
- 1 - unobstructed flow of energy, new beginnings
- 2 - balance, choice, cooperation
- 3 - creativity, family, self-expression
- 4 - stability, grounding, security
- 5 - change, resourcefulness, adventure
- 6 - calm, patience
- 7 - contemplation, self-evaluation, solitude
- 8 - infinity, abundance, success in business
- 9 - highest number, accomplishment, attainment.
What you belief will come to the forefront of your reality. I have worked with numerous projects that many would think, no way could the energy be transformed. One example is of a funeral home completely transformed into a spa and has been very successful ever since. Other projects had the number 4 in the address and what the developers did inside and around the building off set that feeling of "negative" energy. Bottom line, it will come down to what that person believes and perceives as an individual.
