Throwback Thursday- Contruction Paper & Crayons

Remember the Cut-out Valentines Cards we made with construction paper?

 

 

Now you go into a store and there is aisles of Valentines decor, candies, cookies, flowers and more..... How much should we pay to show someone how much we love them?  Is a $10 box of chocolates not enough?  Or how about those cute little boxes of hearts?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When did spending money for Valentines gift become more important than my little construction paper heart with my unsteady hands writing in crayon?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some of these holidays may be fun but are they  really about the person you love or just a marketing tool for retailers?  If it is truly about the person we love then there should be a Valentine aisle available everyday of the year.
