Hardware Store, Purcellville. If you need it, Nichols has it.

Folks in Western Loudoun County know where to go for their hardware needs. Thank goodness for Nichols Hardware. As you can see, the counters, shelves and 3 levels display and sell just about any hardware item you can imagine. I've purchased landscaping supplies, hardware, misc. furniture, furnace filters, a ladder, fishing lures, my washer and dryer and more. The staff are experienced and helpful. The alternative is Home Depot in Leesburg, also well stocked and offers good service.

Lenn love this type of hardware store. We use to have one here in Middletown that had all of those hard to find things no one else had, but they closed up about 10 years ago. I sure miss them!

Lenn - I really love hardware stores like that. I have one in our town. The local hardware is the goto place when you have a problem. The knowledge at the local hardware is not duplicated at Home Depot.

Hi Lenn Harley I also really enjoy a good home town hardware store. We have one in my home town as well. Baell Mercantile was the place to find what you needed.

Lenn, these old-fashioned businesses are just wonderful. There is one that I know of here, and it's over in Brookland. It's so nice because the people who work thiere know the territory. Sort of like old time real estate brokers.

Pat. I've found these businesses to be outside the "big city downtown" area. Often they've been in business for 100 years or more like the hardware store in Purcellville. Thanks for the THUMBS UP.

William. That's exactly what can be done at the hardware store in Purcellville.

Joan. They always are. Problem is, folks don't support them and gravitate to the Home Depots.

I can't even remember the last time I went in to a great little place like this. It's all home depot's and lowes around here. We have a few Ace hardwares but the small business hardware stores are gone.

Nichole. I suspect that they survive on very local business. The nearest Home Depot is about 20 miles east. The nearest Lowes is 30 miles away.
