Has ActiveRain lost it's Google Juice?

By

I have noticed that my blogs are not being picked up by Google's bots the way they used to.  I used to be able to write a blog and within a half an hour, Google would have already indexed it and it would show up in the searches.

However, since Trulia acquired ActiveRain and changed the domain to http://activerain.com/ I have noticed that even my Google Alerts never pick up my own blogs.

Could this be due to the fact that ActiveRain is now a second level domain behind Trulia's?Google Juice

Is anyone else here on ActiveRain having that issue?

I have to say, I think the Google juice has improved and I've noticed it improved for others in my office who are on AR Jim Paulson

Thanks Barbara Todaro That is encouraging to hear.  I will be watching this post to see if and when it gets picked up.  Maybe there is something on my end?

I will be tracking this and when I first searched "has ActiveRain lost it's Google Juice" I found a blog from about nine months ago on this same topic.

If you go to that blog, you will see that Bob Stewart chimed in with AR feedback starting on comment #37.

As I continue to work on this, I ran into another blog talking about "Google Authorship".  I went in and updated my settings based on the following blog:  http://activerain.com/google-authorship

I bet now that I have made some adjustments, my Google Juice might start flowing again.

Your most welcome Michael Setunsky .  Hopefully after adjusting some of my data, it will help.  We will find out better on the next blog that I write.

Ron & Alexandra Seigel I do a mix of online and am extremely active in our local community. People in your community are great sources of leads to buy and sell, but I have found I need an online presence to attract the people moving into town as well.

Hi Jim Paulson ... I agree with Barbara Todaro that my Google Juice on certain search niches is still high and in some circumstances better locally... I have noticed my ranking bouncing around a bit but attributed it to Google's latest local algorithm, Pigeon. For me, my rankings seem to have stabilized and have improved overall...

I don't know how good it is.... But the blogging is good for the search.

Personally, I never have had much faith in the blogging thing. Perhaps the rose color glasses have finally come off?

I see that one of my outside blogs was now picked up by Google's bots, but this specific blog on ActiveRain still has not been indexed. Admitting I didn't plug any specific key words three or four times into the content, tags, etc.

Winston Heverly I think you are mistaken about blogging not being important.  Jim I am finding my blogs in the searches no problem and have not noticed any problems with the change.

I have to say that with blogging continually I have a much larger flow of traffic through my website and through the blog in general.  Blogging is one of the best ways to bring yourself leads and referrals.

Debbie Walsh thanks for the feedback.

I was surprised to see on this blog, that it showed up on one of my outside websites first, then the next day on another of my websites, now on day 2 it shows up on page 1 of Google when I typed in the Title.  It is not as good as when I had one pop in 3 days, but it still sure beats paying some SEO company to get you on the first page of Google.  (disclosure, there is no "official" first page of Google)

My suggestion would be to review your KW and see what other sites are ranking. It could simply be a trendy KW which means more posts are written about it.
