Friday's Fotos from Fishhawk Lake-First Cabin at Fishhawk Lake

There is something about this tiny place that always tugs at my heart when I see it in certain lights on Fishhawk Lake.

This particular early evening, the lake was glassy and the curling smoke rising up into the backdrop of the woods just drew me in. It felt so welcoming and cozy! There's a little light in the window on the far right and I believe that the spot of orange is freshly cut and stacked wood. 

This was the first cabin here and it was situated in a different spot as the story goes, and was here before Fishhawk Lake went in. The developer asked the owner if he would be allowed to put in the lake and move this cabin for the owner, to which he agreed from what I know. 

Many years later, the current owner bought it online! Amazing. She moved here from California when the economy tanked and she now lives here full time.

Hi Gail! That's quite an amazing story and photo too! There sure is a lot of attention to detail in this photograph and I love how you described the beautiful cabin on the lake. Sharon Lee somehow I missed writing a comment on yours, as it was quite a "smiler"! Sometimes these beg to be framed in "reflection", as I think this one is. I LOVE working in Ribbet for my photo-editing.

Michael Jacobs Thoroughly Modern Rockwell....somehow it doesn't have the same ring as Thoroughly Modern Millie...but I DO see your point. AND I take it as a compliment. 

Rob Thomas should I ever get the chance to list this, I will remember these adjectives--you know your stuff!

Michael Thornton --I would say that you and I are often drawn to the same simplicity of country living in our photographs.
