Traditional Home --- or a LOG HOME
The last few weeks my buyers and I have been in search of the best log home within an hour of the Denver metro area. Log homes are beautiful with a rugged mountain look and feel. The log home is gaining popularity, and we are finding more and more of them.
We have found the exterior needs maintenance every five years, similar to a frame home. You will need to stain, and check the caulking/chinking before re-staining. This process must be done during warmer weather 40 degrees to 90 degree days, and no rain or snow. All previous stain must be removed prior to the new coat being applied.
The interior of the log home has a wonderful feel, with vaulted ceilings, rustic poles and unique staircases. Don't miss the antler chandeliers!

Buying a log home requires special insurance and not every insurance company covers these homes. If you are purchasing this type of home in the mountains, the fire danger is higher and again, not every insurance company covers the home. Safeco does offer insurance to cover those homes in the mountain areas.
