OMG, The Snow Is Coming (or The World is Ending)
That's right, the S word. Around these parts, you'd think it was the end of days. We are expecting 2 to 4 inches. That's right, 2 to 4 inches. So there Boston, with your seven feet (so far).
I'm not worried. I am prepared. I have watched the local newscasts. At least a dozen times, I have learned how much salt the city has, what to put in my emergency kit, and just how slippery bridges and overpasses will be. But with the help of Google Maps, I know how to get home without going over a single bridge. It will take an extra three hours, but that's okay, I have plenty of candy bars in my emergency kit.
The schools are closing early today and will be closed tomorrow. The bread and milk isles at the supermarkets are empty. I believe people use the bread under their wheels to get traction. The milk, I'm not so sure.
The plows are lined up. The salt spreaders are full. The National Guard is standing by. The governor is ready to declare a state of emergency.
Work? Well, agents are leaving the office early. You never know, it could actually start soon. Me, I like to live on the edge. I will wait until I see the first flakes. If they don't find me, please think of me fondly.
So Boston, quit your griping. That's right, 2 to 4 inches!
