As I sat down late in 2007, I discovered I need to advertise myself in more and more places.  I have a couple websites, www.billsomerset.com and www.billsomersethomes.com , I advertise with my office through local newspapers, I blog, I send postcards, and farm a general area in Somersworth New Hampshire and Dover New Hampshire.

All of this just was not enough.  I decided to advertise on the radio.  Traditional radio advertising is very expensive, so with a little research I decided to advertise through streaming radio.  The local stations, owned by ClearChannel radio, WHEB, WERZ, and WQSO, have a ton of listeners through streaming radio.  Along with my 30 second commercial, I have a keyword strategy, "NEW HOME" on all of the stations websites.

Let me know what you think of the radio spot.  The ad goes live on today!

Sounds good to me....please let us  know what the response is and if you feel that it's a good advertising value.  Thanks.  Good Luck

Sounds good.  The more people hear it, the more they'll remember the song.  "Keyword: New Home" really stands out, I couldn't remember the website.  I'd suggest putting some more emphasis on the website, and maybe adding your voice to the ad (since you asked!).

Here's a radio spot I did two years ago.  It worked then, but it outdated now.  http://www.tonyfantis.com/radio.m3u

Great good for you. Keep up the good work!

Great idea Bill!  Was it hard to do?  How is the cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Bill- I'd love to hear how it goes... I've heard good and bad about radio- would love to know if you hit pay dirt.

Judy - Thanks for the comments.  The song was picked by the rep. at Clearchannel communications.  He said it has worked very well out west, so I figured I would try it here!

Jason - Thanks for stopping in and commenting.

Kathy - Thanks for stopping in.  I will post with any response I have had within a week or so.

Tony - Thank you for the input.  Glad to hear others have tried this in the past with results.

Jeffrey - Thanks for stopping in and commenting.

Monique - It was all actually very simple.  The toughest part was meeting with all of the different stations to figure who was going to give me the best deal!  Right now, I am spending $62/week, that includes the key word strategy.

Chuck - Thanks for stopping in and commenting.  I'd love to hear what you have heard bad about radio.

Great job! I personally think radio is very powerful and I'll be interested in hearing your results. As the ads say, Radio is the last free media. It's not intrusive - you usually choose to turn it on.

The radio ad was interesting and peppy.  The key word "new house" was powerful. I hope you get lots of business from it.  How does streaming radio work? How does the audience find you?

Debbie - Thank you for the comments.  Hopefully it will work well for me.  I'll keep everyone updated on the progress.

Deborah- Streaming radio works when listeners log onto a stations website, and listen live, online.  All of the stations average over 30,000 streaming sessions per month.  The good thing with the keyword strategy is, they are already logged onto the stations website and just need to type my keyword "New Home" and they will be directed to my website!

Way to go Bill, you're definetly being active in prospecting for potential buyers and sellers. I will check out the radio ad.

Thanks Mike - I'm always thinking of new ways to prospect, keeping with what's working, and trying some new!

Bill this is a great commercial and a fabulous idea! I never thought of streaming radio, but now I think I'll look into it for 2009. Also, thank you for the welcome mat greeting. Very nice.

Keishia - Thanks for stopping in and commenting.  Streaming ads are a great alternative for an agent on a budget.  It is very cost effective and get your name out there a lot!

Bill, I am quite impressed with your radio ads and will be very interested in hearing how this campaign works out. I trust you have a good snapshot of your web stats just prior to implementation.  Good going!

04/28/2008 05:21 PM by Mary Kay Hopkins, LLC

Yes Mary, I have been keeping track of web stats prior to and during these ads.  I will be implementing a new ad this week, changing gears slightly.

Thanks for stopping in and commenting!
