Lighthouse are so special for every sailor. It's used to guide Coast Guard with their ships. Now with technology the light house has become a thing of the past. The 300 year old era of manning the light house stationed has come to a close, but the symbol is there for the next generation to view and to enjoy.
The MONTAUK LIGHTHOUSE : is located on the east end of Long Island. It's the oldest lighthouse in New York State. The lighthouse is over 200 years old and still serves as an aide to navigation. Young and old visits the lighthouse and sometimes have picinc near the ocean.
During the summer, this landmark can be seen from a far distance for all to see, but take a look some thing old can be restore for the next generation to view and enjoy.
This historic site also entertain many visitors: from wedding, camp trips, and school trips. The Museum is such a fascinated place visitors keep coming back fo more and more each time.
Another historic landmark is Westbury GRDENS: Former house of Johns Phipps-160 acres of formal gardens,landscaped woodlands,ponds and lake surround the mansion. Once you take a look at the garden you will never want to leave. The landscape with all the history surrounding all the home will fill your heart asking why didn't I have a room with a view there too. Each group is given a tour guide that takes you though out the gardens and the home with all their expertise it a wealth of information that will make you bring a friend next time for a visit.
