ICE !!! Just Another Day in the Life

Ice!!! Just Another Day in the LifeThe Nashville area, and Franklin TN got hit with a nasty ice storm yesterday. Schools didn't open, doctor's offices were closed--you name it, we were shut down. There's still one to two inches of ice covering every horizontal surface.

The sun's out today but the temperatures are well below freezing with some crazy cold temperatures coming in tonight. Nothing is melting. We live on a country road where they barely plow, let alone spread salt.

The problem is that we have a client who lives in Indiana, who wants to make an offer on a home that Tammie showed them over the weekend--when the weather was not bad. They have narrowed it down to two homes and they want to make an offer as soon as possible. In order to decide, they would like us to Skype or Facetime a second showing to them...today.

We're going to give it a shot, but we're not even sure we can get up our driveway. We'll let you know how this turns out! A Day in the Life, I guess.

Tom,

The main thing is that you two say safe.  I hope the sun starts melting that ice soon,  Wishing you a great week.  A

Tom, hope sun will shine and melt away all the ice and snow, there's really nothing you could do if you're not able to get out of your driveway. Good luck!

Hi Tom - Snow, rain, wind - that's all somehow workable, but ice storms are the worst. Driving becomes very scary, and the damage can be huge. Stay home, safe and warm - your clients will understand.

OH gosh.  I can relate. The weather has been impacting so much here this month.  But, I don't risk it going out in the bad weather.  Ice is the worst of it.

Belinda--We did go out...and made it back safely.

Bruce--We just had to go for this couple. Driving about 5 miles an hour until we got off the country roads really took awhile!

R & A--Some melting in the mid afternoon but not nearly enough.

Beth--We did make it out of the driveway, but very s l o w l y!

Dick--As I said, we did go out. The driving was kind of wild but the situation at the two houses was crazy. Ice was a couple inches thick on the front steps and the handrails had not been installed yet so we couldn't use the front door. We made it in by way of the front porch. It wasn't pretty!

Debbie--I agree, ice is the worst. Fortunately almost no one was out on the roads--they have no idea how to drive here in conditions like this!

Chris Ann Cleland --We use electronic signatures all the time, and expect to do that for this couple when we write the contract. What happened is that this couple came into town for one day. Tammie took them out and showed them 17 (no kidding) homes! They narrowed it down to two but had to go back to Indiana before they could go for a second showing to make a final choice. Today was the second showing--using Facetime!

We escaped the ice but got 7 inches of snow. Another inch is supposed to come tonight. I would rather have the snow than the ice. Stay safe.

I don't know about you but I am tired of slipping and sliding on the patches of ice and snow. Two falls last week didn't feel too good. Today doesn't look like much melting will take place today either. But buyers are beginning to emerge and hitting my website and that is refreshing. Stay warm down in Franklin.

Tom, we had some freezing rain that turned the city into a giant ice rink!  It should get warm tomorrow.  It's wearing pretty thin.
