Shoveling

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage 531132

This morning I woke up to about 6 inches of snow...along with millions of my warm, close, personal Snow Shovelfriends here on the East Coast. Since it was too early to wake my neighbors scraping the snow off the driveway, I decided to shovel something else in my home office...paperwork.

In Maryland, the amount of paperwork for a single transaction never seems to stop. As I was processing documents, mostly for other people to sign, initial, etc. I couldn't help to think that I was just shoveling from one pile to another.

When 9  AM came, I did go out and shovel the driveway...and you know what...it was satisfying. Much more satisfying than shoveling paperwork, because I could actually see something that was accomplished, and it was a great feeling.

No endless paperwork, and when it was done I realized two things. First, I have a really big ass driveway, and second...It's nice to tackle a task and see an actual accomplishment so soon.

I'm thinking about shoveling some condo paperwork pretty soon...for me, and my new drivewayless house.

Richard, we've had snow like this, but it's the frigid air that is getting to me!  And an anonymous neighbor shoveled my walk before I was out of bed!  I have a Secret Shoveler!

Good evening Richard. Bless your heart! I know that you are tired of shoveling the white stuff and where can you put it? Hopefully, it will all melt off soon and this will all be a distant memory.

My desk is currently a mountain of paperwork.  And that's not going to change in the next 10 days which I've given myself to get my tax crap to my CPA.

Hello Richard,

I am trying to clear a path across my desk too - thank goodness I don't also have to deal with a snow covered driveway!

We live at the end of a very long private road so no shovels for us...it takes a tractor!  Still extremely satisfying.

Rich - Maryland contracts are no fun. In my opinion they are one of the worst in the country, Who's going to read and understand 50-60-70 pages of contract all in small print? Since I've done loans all around the country I've seen other contracts. Glad you got some satisfaction from shoveling snow. As for me since I live alone I'll just wait for it to melt.

HI Richard - great post and glad you accomplished shoveling your driveway, and I know how you feel. I get the same satisfaction when I powerspray my back deck . . . I like it and like how it looks when I am done! And if I lived in the snow, I would have a snow blower.

Sounds like great accomplishments today!

richard - now I understan why we have so little activity now. All my buyers got stuck in the snow somewhere up north... Oh well...

Richard - was it you, who secretly shoveled Patricia's driveway?  :)

''Drivewayless'' house! I think it is a very good idea in your climate. I'm so glad I don't need to deal with snowfalls anymore.

Great metaphor, Richard.  Hopefully, the sun is out and shining now with no shoveling necessary.

Hello Richard Iarossi

Funny how paperwork is so despised. It's one of those necessary evils...lol
