Wow I can't believe it! I began January 1st 2008 and It took me 3 months to get to my first 10,000 Points.

The next 10,000 points only took me a little over a month's time to achieve. What happened???

I GOT HOOKED!!!

Has anyone one else heard of this phenomenon? I actually applied myself and got a bad case of the blogs!  Not only did I blog more I actually started reading others at an alarming rate! This unexplainable craze led to me commenting!? Who would have guessed!?

I am officially an addict and i'm sure I need help! Can anyone help me?

I'd like to thank everyone who took the time out to comment on any of my blogs.

Those of you who I see as the AR Gods (those who have 100,000 points or more) I'd like to ask you a question... Can you even remember 20,000 points! LOL

Here are 10 things I've learned while getting to 20,000 Points

1. there are a lot of AR'ers here who know much more than I do

2. Active Rain can cause you to wake up in the middle of the night with a thought and you rush to blog before you forget!

3. If you are consistent you will accumulate points at an alarming rate

4. The more you blog the better you get

5.  At 20,000 points, you still don't know how everything works here at AR

6. It's hard to get your blog featured! :-(

7. You never know what blogs folks will comment on?!

8. You start remembering who other bloggers are by Name!

9. Oh, that's what SEO tags are there for???

10. You can't wait to get to 30,000 points!

See you all at the next 10,000!

Very cute actually...........and being new myself I had to laugh about the one where you get up in the middle of the night to write down a blog idea...........I call it 'blog dreaming', lol !

Here are a couple more points!  I just took a look at your past 'posts'...can I make a couple of suggestions?  Your pics/photos the resolution is off...so they're not focused....also add a pic of yourself........i think it makes it easier to 'identify' and 'relate' to you........and thus to comment!  :-)

I write notes to myself all the time about possible blogging topics.  And it does get easier with time...

Congratulations.  The more you blog, the easier it gets and it really can get addictive.  I keep on thinking what to write all the time although I don't get up in the middle of the night to blog.

I have just made a goal to blog more and see if I can become number one in my county by the end of the month!  I now find that I am online a lot.  I too have trouble finding topics to discuss but heck it has only been 5 days since making this decision.  I sure hope it gets easier.  I am just now taking the time to read what others have to say.  I know I will find some valueable information.

Have a great day.

Great Job!

What are the SEO tags for?  I'm still new.  Less than 5K points, but it's only been a couple weeks.

Thanks!

2K, 20K, 64K, and beyond.  Its all about community and respecting others.  Remember, though, to not post material that belong to other people.  64K for example just isn't worth it!

Excellent job!  Keep up the good work.  It is nice to see someone being humble while recognizing their hard work.  I'm almost to 20,000, and certainly have much more to learn.  Thanks.

Congratulations on hitting 20,000 points!  It's amazing how they add up, even when you're not paying attention, just because you're blogging and commenting.  The next 10,000 will be even faster for you, you can bet on it.

I see a lot of people get lots of points by inviting others. I haven't tapped into that yet the couple invites I did send out didn't get acted upon - partly because those folks know very little about blogging. I have to work on that.

Some blogs I read have lots of comments with very little substance in the comments.  Comments like, 'nice job' joe.  Obviously those were put there to gain points for the poster.

Many blogs contain very impressive insight or information and have comments that expand upon the blog by creating a dialog that further informs.  Those are the ones that make reading in the Rain worthwhile.

Klarque -  Congrat's on points, my point buddy.  You are so right on "7. You never know what blogs folks will comment on?!" isn't this the truth.  Along those lines...you never know what people won't comment on!

Hello Mr. short sale (who are you really?)  Good luck with getting to 30,000 points.  I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute since I started on Feb. 22, 2008 and I have learned more here than I have in the 10 years I have been in real estate! (well, maybe not quite) See you in the rain, Vickie

20k is a great accomplishment! Keep it up! I wanted to post on your newest blog post, but it's been disabled. :-) I try and take everyday events from the area and go from there. It's really opened my mind to see what's going on around me. Hope that helps.

As I am developing MY blogging horizons and skills; I stumped onto your achievement and first will say CONGRATS TO YOU! and second will ditto what many have experienced.  I joined AR back in 2007 and while I did my profile and a few "joins" etc--I never really committed myself until  just a couple of weeks ago and I can't say I have gotten up in the middle of the night yet

I will admit that the addiction is beginning to take hold and I am finding myself drifting from a task on my list to blogging          then 30 min later I come back to reality and shortly thereafter find myself back in someones blog

I, too have the fever and amazingly in just a couple of weeks have moved WAY up the ranks in Illinois and have gained around 5K points.   I can see how this will snowball; the friends I am making already and the knowledge I am gaining

who knew? I know Podcasting is next on my list................
