So...now that a couple of episodes are out...what do you all think of Miss Kim Myles on Myles of Style???

Did you see the Boutique Bedroom episode.  Jury is still out for me. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how down to earth Kim is, her attitude and her overall energy/vibe, but for some reason I get the feel that the rooms really aren't Kim's design's. What do you think? Loving Kim but not the show???

Design Star 2 winner, Kim Myles, challenges homeowners to unlock their creativity as she helps them turn rooms from drab to fab in Myles of Style. No budget? No problem. It's in the bag!

I love her "do", that's for sure.

I haven't seen the new show, sorry, so I can't comment on that.  I did see her on the contest show, though, and I was not impressed.

Nice "do", though. Love the color on her. And, let's think about, great hair is all that really matters, right?

Enjoy her personality, but only saw the show once.  It was fair.  I wasn't completely compelled to make sure to see it again, but one time really isn't a fair chance.

Have'nt seen the show, but I do love her style, personality and genuineness!  I'm sure she will pick up the pace.

Wasn't impressed with the finished bedroom ... but I tend toward simple, less 'designed' rooms anyway. In all fairness, I should watch another show.

So it seems that it's fairly unanimous that Kim and her sense of style is wonderful...but perhaps the show's style/design needs some help?

LOVE that Kim (and her 'do), but I thought of Kim as more of a shopper/quick change artist than designer.  I think the producers should make more of that.  Julie

Hi Denise - I'm hoping so. It sure would be sad to see her show fail as she's really very good infront of the camera!

Hi Cynthia - I feel a bit the same way. I've only seen two episodes and will try to catch another to see if there has been any more subsance added.

Hi Julie - I agree! She really is good at how she presents herself, just hope they allow her to show more of her design skills instead of just trying to do a huge dramatic change.  I feel like the producers might be the same as Trading Spaces when they went on that bizarre kick for awhile.

I think she needs to stick with being a hair dresser a designer she is not.

I have seen a few of her shows and I think her designs are a little "out there".  I think she will refine her style with experience. I think David from Color Splash was phenomenal right off the bat.

I honestly can't see HGTV letting her do any more shows after she finishes the 13. She has had her day in the sun and just can't seem to cut it. She appears to be very phoney to me and really doesn't even dress

properly for her size.

Hi Beth!

Kim is cute but you'd have been a much better choice. You've got more than what it takes!

Hello! I agreen with Karen. She just doesn't have "it" like some of the other ladies have that come across professional but natural.

Karen - Wow...thanks for such a nice compliment. I don't know that I'd make the cut but very flattered you think I'd represent well :)

LaNita - Darn....I actaully do like Ms. Kim but don't think they are giving anything new to the design industry. Not sure if anyone jsut saw the Bohemian Hampton room but I thought that one was her best yet from the epsides I have seen.

All the best,

Beth

I agree with the majority here.  Her shows are not on my "gotta see" list.  Now David's Color Splash had me hooked from the first episode.  I realize that Kim was the contest winner, but sometimes I think HGTV selects their designers from their list of producers cousins.  Some got it, some don't.

Hi Ginger!

I haven't seen David's Color Splash at all yet...and actually never saw previous seasons on Design Star. I've certainly heard of him and seen him, but I'll have to try to catch the show sometime.

Thanks for stopping in!

We must be on the same wave length. Love Sabrina as you did - but not so hot on this show. Hoping our Kimmy hangs in there.

My boyfriend says Sabrina is alright...I think he's hot for her. She is a great hostess and seems to really explain why stagers are a benefit to sellers.

I've watched her show several times.  She is entertaining.  Her finished product does not excite me.

I've only watched her show a few times. I agree she's great.

The homeowners appear to love what she does to transform their spaces.

I do really like her carpenter and he's from Boston.

I've watched several of her shows and I have to say that her designs are really out there...some of the finishes she mixes and patterns and colors for that matter are distracting...not something that appeals to me...David on the other hand is awesome...I just went back and watched Design Star season 1 and he has be great since the beginning...just heard that HGTV signed him on for another 13 episodes...YAY!!!! He is fun to watch...a true creative...

P.S. Design Star is awful this season...anyone else agree?

I watched the Design Star competition and was glad that Kim won.  I was looking forward to watching her new show, but I have to say, after viewing several episodes, that I am not impressed.  I don't make it a point to watch her show like I do David's!

I think Kim seems to be putting on airs and her designing is just horrible.  One family had no bedroom furniture in their bedroom.  Just a bed.  Her design didn't include any furniture they could take with them.  It had a waterfall, some sliding panels to cover windows and bowls of water by the bed.  These people had little children!  I just don't think she has any idea what she's doing.

David Bromstad on the other hand is excellent.  He is a real designer.

I do hear what you are saying Gretchen, but yet I honestly don't know how much say Kim has in what she designs on the show. It's my understanding that there are people that really DO the design, but she shows how it's done and "acts" as the designer.

I could be very wrong, but that is what I've heard. I do have to agree with some of your comments though. I definetly have not been blown away by her show so far which is kind of a bummer.

I watched her show yesterday...a bi-fold baffle behind a bed, with a world-travel theme. I thought it was very, very nice. Certainly not a staging show, however. But the idea was inspired, executed to perfection, and very unique.

I like the way she portioned her budget. She saved where she could, re-vamping some exisiting pieces and working them in, and she knew where to splurge. The baffle was really spactacular.

David's color splash is engaging but at the end of his shows, it seems his style is too much for me to endure for the long-run. I couldn't live in his spaces, generally speaking. I do think, however, his work translates beautifully for the television medium. I can handle life in a very color-saturated environment, and I do. But some of his stuff is too much foreven my spicy tastebuds to handle.
