Just wonder ing why no one mentions Localism and the great furure it seemed to hold when active rain was booming with new ideas. I rarely see posts on the subject and thought I would bring it up again.

One of the great things about the localism photos is that you can string togeather a group of photos that can really give you a feel for the neighborhood. I would like the series to stay put but as other agents start inserting it may ad to it. Being a local expert in the area lets me put some descriptions that ties the area togeather. The New Orleans Warehouse District is one of my areas of concentration. Just wanted to pass on what a series of photos and descriptions can do for you. I like to describe it as a lifestyle text/photo.

The New Orleans Convention Center has been one of the reasons the Warehouse District has become a hot area. There is always something going on fueling the need for good eating places and hotels. Contributor: Eric Bouler (Prudential Gardner)

The Warehouse District is also home to some businesses that have a novel way to advertise their products or create branding. This was home to Lighthouse glass. What a way to get noticed. Contributor: Eric Bouler (Prudential Gardner)

Eric, it looks like a few members got together and lobbied to kill the localism photos for points system.  They charged that some were "gaming" the system with photos.  I guess it's considered gaming when someone else does it and you don't.

I agree with you that there were many good things about Localism photos that seem to have been ignored.  I used to take photos in small towns and historic areas other than urban/metro localities.  Those photos were sometimes the only presence on the Web that those small towns enjoy.  Those photos gave small communities visibility and communicated something about the flavor and culture of the area.  What a pity that this value was not recognized or appreciated.

I like the historical aspect of your photos above and the good descriptions that accompany them!

Eric, An insightful comment. I now do it on my own blog as I find people get a feel for the lifestyle aspect of living in the differnet areas where I do business.  Maybe some could do a snap shot blog of their area. Take a look when you have a chance.

Eric, great comments.  I think out of state buyers certainly are searching for areas and want to know about the feel of a neighborhood -- pictures and descriptions work.  As you know, I write about lifestyles on my main blog.  How to and tips are all over the web but branding yourself as the neighborhood expert gets the phone to ring!

Love your snaps, and I know what it means to miss New Orleans!
