Today we finally performed an inspection of a $600K home that was not for sale.
The buyer called us and told me that they knew the people that owned the house before the current owner and they actually had their wedding reception at this home. He and his bride said that one day they would own the home.
Well - I spoke several times with the buyer on the phone about the home and he was very concerned about the condition. He said that the current owner had not taken care of the property and that it was a mess. He had concerns about the roof, the furnace, the creek in the back yard, and the cedar siding.
So - I had this impression that this was going to be a "doozie".
One of my inspectors pulled up to the house and sent me a pic and said the house looks beautiful and he went inside and introduced himself to the owner and said the house looked great.
Hmmmm...so I get there and get my MacBook set up in the kitchen - this place is pristine...the maids were just leaving actually!
We performed the inspection and the place was immaculate. No major concerns whatsoever.
When the buyer showed up - I was going over our contract with him and I told him - "By the way, this house in pristine condition...what are you worried about?" He said, well - I want to hear what you guys have to say about it! I assured him that Steve would take him around and go over everything that he needed to know.
I left.
I receive a txt from him 30 minutes later thanking me - he now had no worries about the home!
BOOM!
Job done.
