"Walk Now for Autism" April 12th @ 8AM (Atlanta, GA)

I just wanted to write a quick note about a charity event I am participating in this Saturday for Autism.  I am really excited about it because there is a child in the organization I work with (HERO for Children, http://www.heroforchildren.org/) who has autism and, of course, he is very special and very sweet and has really impacted me. He is the main reason I am joining this cause.

The walk is only a mile, and starts at 8AM.  Please consider making a small donation on my team's behalf, or if you are in the Atlanta area, you are welcome to join the team to walk with us.  Here is the link to my personal page:

(My Fundraising Goal is $250. Please consider a $5 to $10 donation for this cause)

INFO:  Walk Now for Autism to help find a cure for autism. Autism is the second most common developmental disorder in the United States affecting one in every 150 children born today. Despite some promising discoveries, the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist.

Question:  I know you are all very busy Real Estate Professionalls, but I was just curious if you all find time to participate in your community like I do and if so, what charities are you most involved with?

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the group!  In answer to your question....I believe that duplicating posts from one blog to another is NOT looked upon favorably by search engines.  Go for new, meaningful content for each blog you do.

Good luck on your Walk Now For Autism event.  My business, Massachusetts 4 Sale By Owner, has been helping to sponsor Derrill's Race, a 5K Run/Walk event in Easthampton, MA for the last five years and it has been fantastic.  I do the marketing: website, forms, press releases, newspaper ads, online newsletter, etc.  So far we have raised over $42,000 in 4 years for the Cam Neely Foundation For Cancer Care and established a local scholarship fund for kids going into law enforcement or criminal justice.

By the way, I also sold a property "by owner".  When my husband's mom passed away her home needed to be sold.  We were able to save her estate over $11,000 selling by owner using our regional magazine and internet advertising service. We had over 35 phone calls, 9 showings and 2 full price offers - closed in less than 6 weeks.

Liz,

Thank you for the information.  I would like to speak with you about adding to the national exposure you offer to your sellers.  I should be able to take XML feeds by the end of the month.

I may also need to chat with you about your 5K.  I hosted my first one last year and only had 111 runners, and raised just under $4000.   The 2nd annual is scheduled for July 19th, so I am getting ready to start promoting it.
