I really enjoyed this post by Barbara Todaro - as she talks about doing things consistently that others are just not willing to do!  Success is creating by consistently doing the fundamentals!

I just read a well written post by Marte Cliff titled Real Estate Prospecting - Only Persistence Leads to Successand I thought I’d share my thoughts on this topic.  Prospecting is the task that keeps business flowing.  Prospecting should be considered the main assignment, each and every day.

The key words are Each and Every DayYet, there are agents who refuse to exert the effort to prospect.  It takes “effort” and “discipline.”  Prospecting is one of those task that a disciplined person will achieve with little effort.  Prospecting is essential in order to remain active and not idle in the real estate business.

As Marte stated, the major problem with most agents is their lack of confidence in their ability to receive a return on their investment.  It takes money to make money in real estate, and that’s one major reason most real estate agents will not participate in Direct Mail Marketing.  Those are the agents who profess openly that Direct Mail Marketing is from dinosaur days.  Convincing yourself and others that it doesn’t work will give you a great “cover” for not wanting to spend money or invest in your business.

Imagine if the majority of real estate agents invested in their businesses.  They’d get their fair share, and those who do 95% of the business (that special 5% group) would be working on a lesser income!!!  Top producers should feel grateful that every agent does not march to their drummer!!  I know I’d hate to share my income with anyone.  How about you?   I like the 95/5 ratio…. That’s selfish, but I’m an only child, and I can get away with it!!!
