That's is the cutest darn squirrel, William!  And, I'm amazed that you managed to capture him posing with the flower like that.  He says his name is Ferdinand!

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat , I am not so sure it is a he. And I sure didn't check but you are right, it is very cute. Speaking of cute, I saw a little baby hummer today trying to feed itself in my feeder. The big ones ( relative term) didn't try to help any. I got up pretty close and wanted to help it reach in to get the nectar but alas it just wasn't tall enough to reach. It probably measured about 1 and 1/2 inches. No photo this time but I will keep checking for its return.

Hi William Feela , Under all that snow, the ground and plants are storing energy awaiting for the snow to melt and the sun to come out and warm them up.

Hi Paul, There is so much of the world located within our backyards that we most often don't take time to see.

Hi William Johnson this reminds me of a squirrel that greeted me each morning last week. We were on holiday and staying with friends, each morning Mr. Squirrel stopped by for a chat and a few ballpark peanuts.

Hi Nancy Laswick , I know for most people squirrels can be a real nuisance. But when you really watch their behavior, it is hard not to laugh or smile. Of course when you feed them, you have a friend as long as you have food. But for photography, it pays to be prepared to encourage them to be where you need them. Did you happen to notice his paw holding on to the ground cover plant that was blooming.
