If you purchase a new appliance...have new carpeting put in...replace your....remodel your...update your.....be sure that after...or in some cases, depending on item/project....During the installation...you do a very careful inspection.
In some natural materials there can be a variation in color or texture....or appearance. If you have hardwood floors, cabinetry, trim etc...wood has different appearances...knots in cherry wood can be quite prominent. Nature doesn't always them in the less conspicuous spot...we look at them as part of their "interesting personality." Other people may prefer a more uniform texture and opt for painted cabinets and woodwork.
Granite and other natural stones have lots of color variation...part of their charm to one eye and a too busy/distracting pattern to another. There is no "wrong taste" it is a matter of personal preference.
It is the discoloration that you may find in the fabric of a piece of furniture, the dent in the appliance, the gouge in the countertop that cause you concern. Defects in materials need to be discovered as soon as the item is delivered or installed.
Be your own detective..a vigiant protector of consumer rights ..you ordered an unblemised brand new....name that material, appliance, piece of furniture..and deserve to have it in perfect condition. To avoid any disagreements about defective materials that the installer/retailer/manufacturer/fabricator may claim is the result of your use or misuese..our advice is "NEVER neglect to inspect...immediately !" You risk being denied the perfection of the item you purchased because it was not covered by a warranty when it was really a defect. If you are looking to sell or buy a home in southeastern Wisconsin ..know that you get two sets of very professional eyes to detect and inspect the home you are selling or the house you are buying when you call the Hansons ..the service you deserve for all things real estate.
