Updating Your Brand And Lady Gaga!

In my opinion, she made a bold statement to the youth saying that crazy look/behavior doesn't last forever and eventually maturity and knowing who you are is what makes you successful and more accepting to the public. I think by teaming up with Tony Bennett she increased her circle of fans and did herself a great favor too. I thought the Oscars was great last night!

Hi Ron & Alexandra - As always, that's great advice from you. We need to constantly monitor our positioning for signs of tiredness or irrelevance, and make adjustments when necessary, and Ms. Gaga is a good example - I have to admit I didn't find much of interest in her old schtick, and this new one seems better.

Hi Alexandra and Ron --- since Lady GaGa is classically trained, she obviously has it in her to do justice to the material.  And I believe she did. Her work with Tony Bennett has been incredible and is introducing her talent to an entirely different audience.  I wonder how her "monsters"(fans) feel about this?   Does she risk losing that faithful following?   

As far as our own marketing is concerned, the successful can become complacent and that can create the opportunity for someone or something new to enter the playing field.   We always need to make sure we are "up" for the game otherwise we may find ourselves on the sidelines.   And that's not good.  

When I was a kid growing up in the early 60's my parents introduced me to The Sound of Music and I still remember it well. I never thought I could be a fan of Lady Gaga but she did have a beautiful sound voice last night that even impressed Julie Andrews.

Lady G is NEVER boring! Even sedate is exciting--as she weaves another Lady Gaga tale. I absolutely LOVED her last night. And by the way, she now has tattoos under that exposed arm since this photo--just to prove that in every way, she's changing it up. 

And she is now engaged! 

I can hardly wait!! That's why I checked in here just before hitting the pillow! (Well, I know it won't be PillowTalk, that one I can discard, for sure!!)

Alexandra loved her rendition of a classic song and for Julie Andrews to come on stage was awesome....If I had my eyes closed I would have thought it was Julie Andrews singing...sorry for digressing from your post...but you are spot on, Endre

Good morning A & R. There are a few artists that come to mind that continue to reinvent themselves, Tony Bennett comes to mind. Lady Gaga is done a great job so far and done it very well.

I watched about 5 minutes of the show before I lost interest.  I did want to know about the show American Sniper but that was about it.  To stay on top of the game one needs to continue to keep up and beat the competition.  

Both my wife and I made comments on just how beautifully she can sing.  We never realized this before.

When they announced she would be teamng with Tony Bennett I said What! Then after seeing her sing with him several times I thought how smart it was and on top, she looked like she was having a ball. 

As for her Academy Awards program she nailed it and showed us she is a supreme talent. I don't believe I have ever heard her voice cover that kind of range before. I believe she is on to something and needs to ride it to the end.

I thought the Gaga brand was just a Madonna imitation for a new generation. Outrageous, schtick pushing the envelope with provocative costumes. I thought she had a great stage name.

Now I know the difference. Gaga can sing and Madonna can not as evidenced by both their performances at the recent Grammy's and by Gaga's Sound of Music performance at the Oscars. 

My brand is a work in progress that is still eveloving and being updated.  

Yes, changing it up can definitely be a great strategy.  

I didn't watch the Oscars but did see the Gaga video the next day and I was truly impressed.  I have a feeling Lady Gaga/Stephanie gets bored easily and wants to keep on mixing things up.  I doubt she's done with the crazy outfits, but I have a huge respect for her as a performer and now, a singer.

This is a great example of updating a personal brand. Many real estate professionals have some work to do.
