Real Estate Comparison 2013 vs 2014 for Newtown, CT We are little late in posting this information, but here it is. We like to compare and contrast real estate performance for the end of the most recent year as compared to the prior year. This gives us a good overview on how the market performed.
Although we had a good real estate year in 2014, it's important for us to keep up with how the market, as a whole performed.
Year | Sale Price, Median | Sales, Number of |
2013 | $365,000 | 323 |
2014 | $365,000 | 421 |
It's curious to see that the median price was EXACTLY the same for 2013 and 2014. What is nice to see is that the number of sales picked up signficiantly. This signals to us the the buyers who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the problems in the market to shake out started to get into the game in 2014.
We hope that the trending we see in the real estate comparison 2013 vs 2014 for Newtown, CT continues into 2015 and that our local real estate market continues to recover. If this trend does continue, we should see the median price increase for 2015. Median sale price increases due to either values increasing or the higher end of the market is selling. Buyer demand will fuel the increase in values.
