Now this is what I call creative advertising. I am typically bored in the first 20 seconds of a video, but I watched this one from start to finish!
Television advertisers learned a long time ago that if you can entertain and get your message across, you have succeeded, and this video is a total success!
Great show and wonderful imagination. Now all of your clients are going to demand something equally clever and unique! You may have created a monster for yourself!
WOW, THAT WAS FANTASTIC! Yes, I'm shouting...best I've ever seen. Someone up above me mentioned that this should be a commercial...I TOTALLY AGREE. EXCELLENT!
That was so entertaining, clever and creative to say the least. Not only are you an "original" realtor, I think you missed your calling-have you considered film?
That put a smile on my face... your creativity shines bright!! REALLY great job! You deserve the win, and the sale of the home! (if it was a real listing!!)
WOW! I'm seriously overwhelmed by everyone's comments. It's humbling to say the least. Obviously this experience has encouraged me to keep moving forward with the video marketing of my listings. In all seriousness, other than silly little home videos of the kids, this was my first foray into video marketing. If I can do, anybody can! Get an idea and start the tape rolling. No extra fancy equipment was used to make this video. Just jump in and start playing around with it. Your clients will love you for it and every video will get better than the one before.
Thanks again for the kind words. I'm working on putting together a "thank you" video. Of course I am. : ) Stay tuned......
Hi Mike! Congrats on your creativity and ultimate WIN!! Way to go! Try to find a good home stager in your area to add the 'extra' polish and your ads will really sell those homes! Excellent!! Regards-Kathleen G
Ditto to what all 42 people ahead of me said! It is a great video, but the creativity in producing it is the winner-you did well! I am forwarding to my son in L.A. who produces videos so he can see that real estate people really are thinkers, not just order takers!!!!LOL
Judy Aselton, fellow Century 21 agent from Blue Ridge, Ga.
Now this was very creative and funny. Well worth your win. With a little better lighting and focus you are going TO ROCK the real estate world. EXCELLENT video.
WOW!!!! That video was AWESOME! What a unique way to market a home - informative and fun all that same time. I'll be forwarding this to everyone in my C21 office! Great job!
Michael is a genius! I absolutely LOVED it. What creativity....what I'd give to be so creative. Fabulous marketing....Congratulations! Entertaining while learning about a property for sale - who knew it could be done?!
Great to see this stuff, Mike! I hope your video will inspire others to do more in the area of video.
My company owns/operates Georgia Real Estate TV at www.GeorgiaRealEstateTV.com. Real Estate Videos like yours could make their way into one of our real estate channels soon!

Mike, I love it. I shared it on the RealBird Blog with our readers.
Are you going to make a series of this for your future listings? "The Beef Thief" . Unless you did it already, you should submit to other video contests as well like http://youtube.com/contests_main
Superb!! (and ditto to the 50 plus posts ahead of mine). I've just forwarded your video to our team to let them enjoy and learn from your professional and creative effort. Looking forward to your 'thank you' video. Much success in your real estate (and film) career!
This is absolutely awesome. i laughed until I hurt. How did you have the knowledge and time to put this together? My hats off to all of the judges who made you THE MAN. Go for the GOLD. I would defintely buy a house from you. Gina Zimmerman, Fort Wayne, Indiana
And to all those folks that don't yet have access to video email (which works great, BTW)...you too can participate in the fun! It's only $10.00 for this great marketing tool.....
WOW! This is VERY well put together video. two thumbs up. Great music in the back ground and I liked how you described the house in your script. The best so far!
Mike, Very creative way to show your listings! I kind of knew where you were going with it, but the dog at the end, was the perfect touch! I had one of those long trying days. So this was the perfect ending to a very stressful day! It gave me a great laugh that I really needed. Thank you and a very big Congratulations to you!
Easy to see why this won. Now the real question... is the video helping sell the property? Let us know the impact on your marketing the property. This was a great production. How long did it take to produce, start to finish?
Totally Captivating and I'm completely jealous. I agree with some other comments here, that I usually get bored after the first 10-20seconds, not so with this video. The audio was also excellent and didn't sound forced or unnatural. Way to go. Now..how did you do it, what camera did you use, how did you edit it? Don't hold out on us:-) Great job and a worthy winner!
That was a great video Mike! Very creative and well deserving of the top prize. It is hard to keep a real estate agent's attention for more that 30 seconds and you have me for the whole 2:10. Well played...
If I'm ever feeling down, I just pull up the comments on this blog post. You all are great for my ego! Thanks for all the kind words. I really appreciate all the positive feedback. I will be sure to report back on my day with Seth, but in the meantime, my silly "thank you" video will have to suffice. http://activerain.com/blogsview/465108/ActiveRain-I-thank-you
Please feel free to contact me anytime if you think I might be able to help with a video question. I'm be no-means any kind of expert, but I really enjoy making these videos and that's half the battle.
WOW! You Rainers all rock. Thanks for all the great comments. Your positive feedback definitely encourages my behavior (for better or worse). Please feel free to post the video on any of your blogs, play it at your meetings, do whatever you'd like with it. The more exposure the better. We need to get this one sold! I've posted a follow-up "thank you" video here: http://activerain.com/blogs/appraiserrealtor and will document my trip to NYC with Seth Godin as well so stay tuned.
This is the best prize I could ever dream of and I feel incredibly fortunate to get this opportunity. I will not let you down and will represent ActiveRain well in NYC next month.
Thanks again. I'm truly humbled by the comments posted here.
And the OSCAR goes to....Mike LeFebvre! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!
Really wonderfully creative...and you know, you had just the right touch of "film noir" with your "moody lighting" very appropriate for a missing meat mystery!
I am laughing so hard I am about to fall out of my office chair. You are a very talented man! Thank you for putting some humor into this sometimes can be stressful job of ours.
Gretchen: I accept a snort as the absolute highest form of comedic appreciation. Tears of laughter are a close second. Glad I could add a smile to your day.
Tom, Doreen and Deborah: Thanks so much to all of you for watching and commenting! I will keep you posted on how we make out on the Century 21 contest.
Erica: Thanks for the kind words! Coming from someone with your credentials and background, I really appreciate it!
Dave: Thank you! Glad to hear I stirred up your imagination.
Mioshi: Thank you very much! I did all the editing in iMovie on my Mac. Love my Mac!
Thanks to the three of you for a little flurry of re-interest! My latest entry into the video contest world has nothing to do with real estate, but if you'd like to check it out (and comment and vote of course!) you can find it at: http://flipforbudget.com/videos/road_trippingon_a_budget/
Thanks again for everybody's comments. There were all truly appreciated!
That's it....Mike can do all my listing Video's.
I'm way to serious to market my listings.
I loved the the Video! Well done.
Cheers, call when Mike is ready to start producing for us Simple Folks.
That is how you differentiate yourself from the competition. In addition, wow your clients with the marketing of their home. GREAT JOB!! BEST I'VE SEEN!!!!!

Thanks to all of you who have been driven here from the ActiveRain e-newsletter and felt compelled to comment. I really appreciate all the kind words! A little follow up: since winning the ActiveRain video contest and spending an absolutlely awesome day with Seth Godin in NYC, I also won the Century 21 "Dig the Digs" video contest, nabbing the sellers of my listing at 30 Jefferson Road $21,000 in cash and a 32" HDTV. I personally won a 32" HDTV and a "customer for life". We are having a big media event up here next week with C21 CEO Tom Kunes making an appearance to present the big phony check. RSS my WordPress blog to stay up to date with that. I will try and update on my ActiveRain blog as well, but in all honesty I haven't figured out how to update in multiple places (can anyone help me on this?). So thanks to Bob, Rich and Jonathan for promoting my video behavior and starting this little hobby of mine off on the right track. I've actually entered another video contest that has nothing to do with real estate, and everything to do with winning $25,000. After my sellers won the $21,000 in the C21 contest, I figured I wanted to go for something for myself. Call me greedy. Go ahead. If you have a sense of humor, and like how I make videos, please go to the Flip for Budget contest, watch my video, leave a comment, give me a rating (5 stars is preferred) and if you're a Digger, please Digg it ($1,000 for the most Diggs, and I'm in second place).
Thanks again to everyone who enjoyed this video. Please stay in touch with me. I try to be all over the place (see below).
Excellent job! truly enjoyed that.
As a former Law Enforcement Officer, fan of Dragnet (and many other crime drama TV shows) and of course as a REALTORĀ® you really presented a terrific bit of humor and detail.
Funny my graphic word is caper! LOL
Aloha Mike,
I got such a kick out of your video, I've been forwarding it to my friends and family. Entertaining, cleverly scripted. It was GOOD!!
Send me more sequels!
Wow, you are really good at this! You have found an awesome niche. Rather than the boring virtual tours, you could charge $350 per utube video, maybe more!
You have some great talent. You really need to pursue the video career. I am interested to see where this takes you. You set the bar pretty high with marketing your listings with video. Great job!
