Hi all, my name is Jesse Gonzalez and I work and live in the Hermitage Tennessee area. I have been attempting to break in to the REO business now for a little over a year. I have partnered with such companies like Clear Capital, Premier Asset Services (Wells Fargo) and several others however; BPO's seem to be all I am good for.
I have made great contacts within the PAS organization and I am told I meet all the "requirements", granted I receive what I believe is to be a fair share of BPO's (10-15 a month) from them however, the REO seems to always be listed with another agent.
Trying to give my self an edge, I started looking for classes or any additional training I could take. As you may imagine, very few options were out there. I could either pay 500.00 for someone's "PROVEN STRATEGIES THAT WILL WORK FOR YOU" book and kit or I could attend some online course from a company I have never heard of, so what does a person do?
At this point, I believe I have found a reputable training company, The Five Star Institute however, they are located in California and I am in Tennessee, so I am not exactly sure if that would be ideal for me. What are your opinions on REO designations?
I have over a year of BPO experience and I have sold several foreclosures this year alone. I have 2 investors who do nothing but buy foreclosures and flip them, even in this market. I have a great working knowledge of the expectations and I have set up a completely digital office preparing for quick, instant, reliable communication with asset managers and lenders. I have even set aside a budget strictly for common reimbursable expenses typical of an REO Agents duties, in other words, I am truly ready!
So, do you think a REO Designation is worth my time or should I just keep plugging away at these BPO's while keeping my fingers crossed?
