What's your "cup o' tea"?

Sometimes I feel so filled up with information, it makes my head spin.  From foreclosures to short sales to fsbo's to first-time homebuyers, etc...I'm interested in all of these.  I'm getting overwhelmed.  I think I've finally come to the conclusion that I need to pick a niche and focus on it.  I know that I've been told that many times, but it took awhile to sink in.  What do I like to do?  What am I good at?  Focus on it and stick to it. I think that will make life a little less complicated.

Great point Debi.  It is trendy to hop on the short sale bandwagon or forclosures.

Is there something wrong with helping nice people buy and sell nice homes?

I don't think so!

I'm seeing agents do very well by focusing on first time home buyers. This market is perfect for them from a cost perspective and I think it could be very rewarding.

Hi Debi, I used to share your frustration. However meeting a contact on Active Rain got me into matching up buyers and sellers with large packages of REO's. Thanks, Keith

Hi Debi , I don't know if you read my post on Niche's...?  Do you need a kick in the butt? It might get your juices going?  It might help..:-)

Hi Debi,

You are on the right path!  It is difficult to be really good at everything.  Focusing on a niche allows you to become an expert on a specific thing.

Ken - Exactly.  Thanks for commenting!

Lisa - I think you're right, and, actually, most of my clients are first-time homebuyers.  Maybe that should tell me something...  :)

Keith - It looks like you've found your niche...That's great!  :)

Liz - Yes, you wrote a great post...It's one of the things that encouraged me to pick something!  Thank you!  :)

Bill - I agree.  Thanks for commenting!  :)

I prefer Earl Grey or Constant Comment! I work a niche market of second home owners. This area has many "snowbirds" traveling back and forth for warmer weather. My advice is to look at your life and what you like to do and make a niche out of that.

Shannon - That's a good idea.  Thanks for the advice.  :)

Great point! Plus, you always do better and are more successful at doing what you love! Complicated isn't necessarily more successful right? :)
