Leonard Nimoy, known around the world for his character, Mr Spock on the original Star Trek, died Friday morning at his home in Los Angeles. Nimoy, 83, was a actor in Hollywood who performed in a variety of roles but will always be remembered as Spock.
The original series, Star Trek, ran from 1966 through 1969 and remained a cult classic for years in syndication (Live Long and Syndicate). The wildly successful Star Trek movies breathed new life into the series and the original stars. (1979-1991) several of which Nimoy directed.
Leonard Nimoy finally appeared in the current revival of the Star Trek Movies (2009 and 2013) as a mentor to himself through the mysteries of science ( the younger Spock is played by Zachory Quinto).
