The Power of Face-to-Face Business

I know that everyone is on Facebook; well, most people are. And if Facebook were a religion, it would come in number 3. 
But despite its name, Facebook is somewhat of a misnomer when it comes to truly connecting with people. 
 
And in the light of all the hype that surrounds social media, I am happy to report that the facts bear what I am saying out.
 
In a survey conducted by Hubspot, here are some numbers from the respondents in their survey: 
  • 84% say they prefer in-person meetings
  • 85% say they build stronger, more meaningful business relationships during in-person business meetings and conferences
  • 77% say they prefer in-person due to the ability to read body language and facial expressions 
  • 75% say they prefer in-person because they lead to more social interactions and the ability to bond with co-workers / clients
  • 49% say they prefer in-person business meetings because they allow for more complex strategic thinking
  • 95% say face-to-face meetings are essential for long-term business relationships
So as wonderful as all the smart technology is, unless it brings people together, face-to-face, you might be very well 'liked' but that may not translate into long-term business.

I agree that face to face meetings are very important.  I think that social media should be an "addition" not the only way of communication. Thanks for sharing.
